This lecture-seminar is an exploration of the notions of gender from various cross-cultural perspectives. The purpose of this seminar is to establish an understanding of the differences in gender identity and its cultural itirations using various examples from around the world. To support this investigation, students will be introduced to concepts related to feminism, queer studies, and androgyny in several cultural contexts.
This workshop can be done in-person or online. It lasts 2 hours but can be longer by request to get a more in-depth overview of the topic.
