Christmas post!

A few thoughts on gratefulness

As this year comes to a close, I am thankful for the experiences I had as an educator, having a few very dedicated students graduate from Kinesiology and Anatomy courses. I am glad that despite the all the obstacles people make room to invest in themselves.

I am grateful to be able to dance again and do so mindfully and with care, using my knowledge. I might still get injured at some point but at least I would have done my all to prevent it.

Dance is a complex and often difficult journey, but we must embrace the present moments of it every day. What are you thankful for?

Some recent wins:

  • Bespoke seminars on inclusion and diversity in dance were recognized in the ISTD Dance Magazine.
  • An upcoming injury prevention book (I can’t reveal the name yet!) will include Irish dance and Dancesport, both less researched practices in that field.
  • Dance With Me, a large ballroom dance company I work with is considering including somatics and injury prevention in their teacher training programming next year!
