In depth study of western modern and contemporary dance theatre practices with particular focus on 20th century to present. By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to recognize, compare, and contrast choreographers and dance practices from different historical moments, identify the key conceptual features of distinct dance periods, critically discuss historical research methods and issues, present information in a clear, cohesive, and effective manner in written format.
